Case count increases slightly in Oxford, Elgin counties

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Oxford and Elgin counties region increased slightly over the weekend, the health unit reported.

In its Monday morning update, Southwestern public health reported 44 new cases since Friday, as well as 42 recoveries, bumping the active count to 140.

There have now been 3,450 cases and 3,234 recoveries in the Southwestern public health region to date while 76 people have died from the virus.

Of the region’s ongoing cases, there are 33 in Woodstock, 32 in St. Thomas and 31 in Tillsonburg. There are 11 cases in Aylmer and six cases in Ingersoll.
